It was a lazy day at the beach today.
Waves coming and going.
We gathered more shells,
washed ashore.
A picture I took became the starting point
of a new fabric collage.
A work in progress still.
Embroidery and beads need to be added.
Holes need to be drilled in the shells.
But I'm not in a hurry.
This fellow was begging for a piece of my sandwich.
I gave in. For another photo opportunity.
Hey, you ain't getting it for nothing Mr. Gull.
More shells being washed ashore.
The sea leaving bubbles behind.
And so you can join me today at this lazy beach day,
here's a little video I took while standing in the short break.
Wishing you a peaceful week.
xx Wen

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful shell collage and the three dimensional one is looking so soft and beachy too. I am so happy for you Wendy that you are taking the time to be at the beach and to feel the sun and the sand between your toes.
ReplyDeleteLife is looking good for you at the moment!
Happy Summer creating and sending love and hugs to you,
Suzy
Your post made me think of visiting the ocean when we were in Florida when 0ur kids were small. They were gathering sea shells and we still have some of them from a long time ago. I have enjoyed reading your blog tonight. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend Shirley#shirleystitches
ReplyDeleteLovely day, and lovely piece! Just tried drilling some holes in shells for a collage but they were quite fragile and I lost some.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful days on the beach, collecting treasures, and feeling good. So beautiful are all the shells riding on the waves to you, on shore .
ReplyDeleteI would take home some, too- The beach collage, is so beautiful, with all nature pieces, and your sewn collage looks adorable with the shells, and the images you took. I hope to see it finished, dear Wendy.
The seagull is a most wonderful photo-they are so naughty !!
Thankyou dear for your note, you will hear from me, sweetie.
Hugs from Dorthe
