Here's a little "making of" for you of a card I made out of scraps and leftovers. I hope it will inspire you to treasure your leftovers (not the food that is) and recycle the bits and pieces you find.
I used an image of a beautiful young French lady, which I also used on an earlier project. That was an altered jar. This is a recycle / remnants card. Made on muesli packaging and using remnants.
The button and lace doily both come from our family heritage and stash.
Here's my recycled card DIY process. In a nutshell. (I was in a hurry.
Blame Pinterest. I've been pinning my brains out, it's so addictive!)

Just grab some packaging and remnants of paper and fabric (or whatever you like to use) and start tearing, cutting and glueing. That's it basically...
Oh ya, and don't forget to sew the edges if you have a sewing machine at hand.
Well, it's by no means pretending to be a great tutorial, just hoping you get or stay inspired to recycle the remnants and junk you have at hand.
xx Wen
What a great challenge! I need cooling down with 115 today! Your image is wonderful and I love the lace!! Thanks for the challenge!

ReplyDeleteHello Dear Wendy
ReplyDeleteThis is "simply" beautiful! The image and the lovely doiley too. I have been creating with one very similar today!
One of my favourite materials for creating small collages is a tea box and I'm really comfortable with that.
No one would guess that you have used a muesli box. So great to recycle!
Love your "Waking up" post too sweetie!
Sending warm hugs,
Suzy
What a fun post Wendy, and what a beautiful creation, thanks for the tutorial though! : )
ReplyDeleteSuper mooi project, ik ben dol op recyclen!!
ReplyDeleteIs it wrong to be excited about re-cyling? I ask because I find it wonderful to transform items from around the home and for us to make wonderful use of them as I see before me in this gorgeously shabby chic creation.
ReplyDeleteVery special.
Wishes
Lynne
