This is a special post in honor of the Grow Your Blog event. (Hence the different font.) Thank you Vicki for hosting this spectacular and wonderful event!



First of all...

 ... happy to meet you! A very warm welcome to my home in Blogland.

It’s filled with crafts, stitches, beads, collages, mixed media, digital pieces etc etc. O, and my rambling of course :) My name is Wendy. I'm a mommy. My blog is called AppleApricot.




I love vintage, shabby chic, brocante, victorian, roaring twenties and more of those wonderful old fashioned styles.

Almost one year ago I bought a book called


The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt


... by Caroline Preston. It changed my life! It’s a novel in pictures, old fashioned scrapbook style. I loved it so much that I wanted to start my own scrapbook.



That's how I started my crafting journey.

Soon I wanted to follow all the inspiring craft blogs I came across and participate in swaps.

That’s why I started blogging.





A new hobby was born... Little did I know what great adventure lay ahead of me nor how many sweet and inspiring people I would meet. It's such a wonderful experience to become part of the crafty community in Blogland!




An extra BIG THANK YOU to some very special blog friends who cheered me on in my first endeavors of becoming a crafter and who stayed faithful, through thick and thin. Marjanne, my very first follower and swap friend, Lisette, Toos, Anja, Willy, Linda, Kirsty, Dorthe, Ros, Daphne and Suzy; thank you dear friends! You’re most welcome of course to become one of my dear blogging friends. And from day one of this blog I have a habit which I really try to keep: when you leave me a comment, I do my best to visit your blog too or reply to your comment. But I do have to be able to see your blog address and/or email address of course. I noticed that it’s not always the case and I’m very sorry to not be able to visit or reply you then.

    I remember the first collage book I purchased, same thing for me, that was the beginning. I still have the book and look at it often and still get that same feeling.

    What a lovely post - you have told your story so beautifully.

    I'm intrigued by the book "The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt" and I can't wait to order it from my library! I love scrappy!

    I've done lots of scrapbooking too and I still make sweet little notebooks, board books and cards for my little granddaughters.
    Now I work mainly with lace and old linens making collages and books.
    I love all those pretty bits and bobs like you!

    I've made a few ATC cards and I even have a special album to put them in!
