Hello hello,
Where would we be without our modpodge eh? At City Crafter dear Ros asks us to dress up anything like a tin, envelope, book, jar, things like that. Stuff you would normally throw in the bin perhaps? Oh dearie... my heart started fluttering tickery toe, for I do LOOOOVE dressing up junk!! Thank you dear dear Ros!
I chose a jar. A sweet tinny tiny jar with a sweet yellow gingham lid.
I added a sweet pink rose on top to make it even sweeter.
Then I really got started, armed with Mrs Modpodge, and covered the little jar in fabric.
I felt like doing some embroidery and made a little strip with bright yellow squares, matching the ones on the lid, and some more pale pinkyness.
Do you see the small strip of pale pink on the bottom of the jar? Any idea what that is?
You know the thingies that are in your newly bought clothing, the ones that hold it up onto the hanger? (Or so they should!!) Yep, it's one of those! Don't throw them away but use them! They're fun little embellishments. Make sweet little bows for instance. Oh, there's one just below the lid, by the way... A bright pink one this time.
Ooh, and seeing the Wisteria on the background reminds me that I have wanted to show you our Wisteria in bloom (because I know some of you love Wisteria), which I forgot to do several times. There are only two little survivors left now I'm afraid. These photos were taken a couple of weeks ago.
It seems as if my crafty style is slightly changing. Well, we'll see where Miss Mojo will bring us.

Ik kon met je meevoelen toen je vertelde dat mevr. Mojo je in de steek had gelaten.
Dat gebeurt soms "gewoon". Akelig genoeg.
Wat leuk dat je zoveel tips hebt gekregen.

ReplyDeleteHa ha ha! Ik dacht dat ik erg was met alles oprapen, verzamelen, vragen of mensen het willen afstaan, ruilen zonder te huilen, maar jij kunt er ook iets van Wen! Maar goed, onze hobby heet niet voor niets scrappen, toch! Wat een heerlijk fris potje heb je ervan gemaakt, vullen met heerlijke zelfgemaakte confiture en aan zo´n gezellig houten tafeltje op de dijk, ja ja, met bijpassend ruiten tafelkleedje, verkopen aan passerende fietsers, zie je het al voor je, goed zo! ReplyDeleteThese little decorated jars would make lovely gifts for any occasion when filled with something homemade...orange or lemon marmalade. I too save those hanging ribbon loops that I cut off immediately so they never slip out and hang down an arm or neck. Creative Hearts are Happy Hearts...

So cute on it's own but then the addition of the sweet roses...well, that makes the lid. I also love the sweet fabric and the added piece of embroidery that you've used on the base of the jar.
