Simply Neutrals #35

bark texture by AppleApricot

Hello sweet friends and welcome to Simply Neutrals #35 (no less!).

Ain't time flying like crazy? To think it's the 35th SNT already, wow!
Today I share two of the photos I promised last week, of the nature walk we did recently. We went to the heather fields, woods and bogs the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, a beautiful area not too far away from where we live. We go there often and I promise to share more photos of it this coming week.

I found many gorgeous textures. Barks and mushrooms in particular. Below is the mushroom photo that I used for the background of my digital scrapbook paper that I shared last week, which you can use as a freebie for your own work if you like (the digital paper, not the photos of this post of course).

I just love love textures. At our walks I'm always on the lookout for beautiful and interesting textures. I even have a special Pinterest board for it. I noticed that I should update the board, but there are already some gorgeous yummy textures to be found!

Let's continue with the party, shall we?

Feature of last week

I was so in love with these sweet little tags dear Nancy of Sugar Lump Studios made! Sweetie, they are so gorgeous and serene!

And I love how Nancy displayed them in front of that gorgeous drawers.

Dear Nancy, this button is for you:

On to this week's party!

SIMPLY NEUTRALS #35

To join the party, please keep the following things in mind:

1) Please link only to the blogpost that contains the photo(s) you want to share, and not to your blog's homepage.

2) Kindly link back to AppleApricot by putting a link to my blog in your blogpost.

Of course you're most welcome to use the blog button of Simply Neutrals Tuesday as well
(which can be found in the sidebar of my blog)

3) Link ups to both new and older blog posts are welcome.
Of course it would be nice if you link up to a new or recent blog post, but if there is something from the archives you'd really want to link up here, then please feel welcome to do so.

4) You can link up from your blog, but if you do not have a blog but would love to link up from your instagram or other social media account, that's perfectly fine too.
Beware though, that may be not everyone can come visit and/or leave you a comment there.

5) Please take time to visit some of the other link ups and send them some love.
The most recently added link ups will show in the list first.

Time for the link up!

xx Wen

  4. Such beautiful textures and Nancy's work is really amazing !
You host this event in such a beautiful and unique way - I am really in love with your Simply Neutrals Tuesday! Thank you for the free digital collage from the last party!
I will check your pinterest boards as well. I am a big Pinterst fan - the most inspirational social medium of all in my mind, specially for artists.
I am initially from Vienna but live for 8 years in the northern part of Austria now- called "Waldviertel". We have no mountains here, nearly flat - it's near to the Czech boarder but many woods and I love that nature is really pure here, this is the main character of the area. Imst is amazing - the tyrolian skiing region Hoch-Imst is wonderful - can imagine how great the ski holidays were there!
    Happy week Wen!
Thank you for the party! I linked my latest AJJ spread .

I love Pinterest, I would not be able to create what I create without all the inspiration and also the tutorials you can find on social media :)
Vienna, such a beautiful city, I spent hours and hours in the Kunsthistorisches Museum there! I never went to the area of Waldviertal but looked it up on google and it looks beautiful. To me it's still quite hilly, I'm used to complete flat land here in the Netherlands :)

  5. Hello Dear Wen,
Your textures are beautiful! I collect textures too, and love them all, from rust to fungus! The details, the minutest, are often most intriguing, aren't they? And it is often the walks nearest to us that show us these details, as we often overlook them for the 'big picture'.
Nancy's tags were so beautiful; she is very talented! Great choice!
Have a great week - observing more of those special details so often overlooked in our lives...
    Big hugs,

Textures are really intriguing yes! It's a form of art on its own, so beautiful and interesting. I have to admit I often overlook the big picture because my eyes wander along the smallest details often on walks. I have to remind myself to stop and watch the landscape as well, lol :)

  8. Such wonderful textures in your nature photos - definitely fodder for creativity. I have to learn to carry my camera with me - drove by at least two barns yesterday that would have been perfect to recreate but of course didn't have my camera and now haven't a clue where we saw them.
