Jolie Rose ~ et Joyeux Noël!!

Bonjour mes amies,

It's Christmas Eve tonight!
Veillée de Noël it's called in French.

Says wikipedia...

You know, I was born a French girl but my knowledge of the language is terrible. Because I grew up in The Netherlands. So when I visit my relatives in France I hardly understand what they say and they look at me as if I came from another planet when I try to speak French.

They hardly speak any English,
let alone Dutch.

Anyway, I was in a French mood when creating a card plus package for a dear blogfriend (a couple of weeks ago). In case you might wonder about all this Frenchness.

Dear friend has received it, so I can show you the result.

First of all there's this beautiful girl
and I named her Rose.

Jolie Rose.

She's supposed to be French after all.

Well, she is on a vintage French postcard
so I assume she must be.

This Frenchness called for a "jolie" charm
and some French book pages on the background of course.

Some lace fabric with roses added to the wrapping paper
and some of it cut in ribbons adorns the rose on the card as well.

And of course there must be a rose on the card too.

I didn't use any tape to seal the package
but stitched the sides.

(Of course got that idea from Pinterest.)

It's my turn this week to host at City Crafter
and because it's Christmas Eve tonight
and we're celebrating the birth of Christ on this earth
my challenge for you is called

Child

make a card or project with a baby or child.

I'd love to share with you some beautiful vintage images
with sweet little Christmas angels.

  12. Dear Wendy,
Here I am again- my little family left yesterday, and there is time to blog and visit again.
I hope your christmas was wonderful, my friend.
Your French card is so beautiful, and how exiting to read that you are really a French girl, growing up in The Netherlands. My daughters father is a Frenchman too, but I also never learned the language for real !! We divorsed many years ago, and I am now merried to a Danish man for 30 years,- but still friend with my daughters father.
Hey, you got some private story here :-)
I wish you all the best for the new year to come, and send you hugs.
